What is Sugaring?

Originating in Egypt, sugaring hair removal has been around since 1900 B.C. Sugaring is great for sensitive skin types because it consists of just three ingredients: sugar, lemon, and water. The paste is rolled onto the skin in the opposite direction of hair growth with a gloved hand, and hair is removed WITH the hair growth in a flicking motion. This allows for the hair to be pulled from the root with less broken hairs, and causing fewer ingrowns! Because the hair is removed from the root, sugaring slows down hair growth, and hair grows in softer and finer over time,

Sugar paste is also warm, not hot, so no worries of burning your skin! No itchy, irritated skin like with waxing. There are no added chemicals, and your skin will feel super soft after your service because sugaring exfoliates dead skin cells.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique that promotes healing, relaxation, and stress reduction. The word Reiki is represented by two kanji, Rei and Ki. “Rei” means spiritual wisdom , which represents higher levels of consciousness beyond our ego (some use God, Source, etc.). From this, spiritual healing, and creativity, originate. Your Reiki practitioner acts as a bridge to mind, body and spirit to bring wisdom, guidance and healing. “Ki” is known as life energy. It’s what’s circulating through and around us. When we die, our life energy, or “Ki”, departs. When “Ki” is low, or if something is restricting it’s flow, you may be more vulnerable to illness.

“Ki” flows through chakras, meridians and nadis, which may also be present in organs and tissues in the body. This energy supports vital functions, so when a healthy flow of “Ki” is disrupted, our physical body functioning can be diminished. This is the main cause of illness. Negative thinking through our subconscious mind can disrupt a healthy “Ki” energy flow, causing byoki (unhealthy “Ki”).

During your Reiki session, Angela will use her hands (this may or may not involve actual hands on the body, depending on the client’s comfort level) to assess where the person has byoki, and release it.

Reiki has been used in hospitals and may reduce recovery time with surgery, reduce pain, nausea, and anxiety. Reiki is a helpful aid in healing of emotional trauma, and may improve your overall mental attitude.

What is Crystal Healing?

Societies throughout history such as ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, China and Greece used crystals for their healing properties. Several different types of crystal’s vibrational energies are used to affect your energy field in a healing Reiki session at Sugar and Chakras. The crystals are cleared between sessions and re-charged for maximum benefits to remove blockages, remove or absorb energy where there is too much, and increase energy where there is too little. Angela’s belief is that using crystals with Reiki results in a more powerful and optimal session.
